Last day for prep!
The plan is to kick off tomorrow morning, bright and early. The first day is a smooth ~60mi cruise from Chicago to Hebron, IN and I'm looking forward to it. I went through a test run to check on a few hurdles with my gear prep and gather last minute materials, and see how well my gear withstands the rain.
Turns out, my gear isn't waterproof as I had hoped it to be, but it seems the storm will be gone by the time I wake tomorrow morning. Plus, nothing a couple Hefty bags can't contain. But when my buddy Scott mentioned a storm was on the way, I hopped on Weather.com only to find this on the front page...

Once the rain died a little I finished up my packing. The pannier finally arrived, so I packed her up and threw it on the bike for a quick shoot. She ain't no beaut, but she's sturdy and won't go down without a good fight. I haven't named her yet, so shoot me any ideas you have. I'm going with "Death Carriage" for now, but the name bears an ill will...
More updates to come tomorrow. For now, here's vlog 2.
