I want to take this opportunity to bring awareness to something I believe in.
Dr. Eric Galvez is a personal hero of mine. An active triathlete and doctor of physical therapy, Eric was diagnosed with a meningioma brain tumor the size of a golf ball in 2003. Since, Eric overcame surgery, countless amounts of therapy, then built mAss Kickers, a global non-profit organization dedicated empowering and improving the lives of tumor/cancer patients and their loved ones. I follow mAss Kickers through their Facebook site, and it's incredible to see what they've done to change peoples lives.
I had a chance to meet Eric in college, when he came to share his life story and introduce mAss Kickers. If you consider the kind of turmoil a patient and his/her family goes through during these trialing times, it's incredible to see the amount of energy and enthusiasm Eric operates with. To see someone endure such hardship and come back stronger than ever to touch the lives of patients and families around the globe, is both humbling and inspiring.
So for the next 10 days, I bike for mAss Kickers.
Please take some time to visit their website and learn more about their cause. They have a neat website going over their cause and introducing the people committed to their program.
I'm honored to fundraise for mAss Kickers through this trip, and encourage all of you to donate to their cause.
